My First Treat Meal at Seoul Here
Dated: 19 Oct 25
I recently decided to start my fitness journey, and I have been working out everyday for the last 2 weeks without any breaks or going out to eat, despite the kind of lifestyle I had before.
My trainer – Ashish said its time for me start my “treat” meals and I was just confused, “treat meal”… isn’t it cheat meal? Turns out his philosophy is different, which I kind of like too, he said – We are not cheating on our diet, we don’t cheat. Rather we are treating ourselves, our body, mind with what it wants because it has been listening to us and working out, pushing itself and in this way we are making a positive reinforcement pattern.
So, I started to checkout where to go for my first treat meal, as it is a special occasion and I remembered this small restaurant which I always wanted to checkout.
The first stop on my list was Seoul Here, a small, quiet yet aesthetic Korean restaurant tucked behind Symbiosis in Viman Nagar.
The place had a cozy and peaceful vibe — perfect for an unhurried dinner. Their menu had plenty of interesting dishes, but I decided to try the Chicken Bulgogi.
To be honest, because of my wondering nature, I had already seen their menu online and decided on my choice before even leaving the house. Interestingly enough, the name was very simple – ‘Bul’ means fire and ‘Gogi’ means meat — and this dish truly lives up to its name. It’s a sweet and savoury BBQ-style chicken delicacy served with rice, kimchi, and soup. The taste was simply amazing — full of flavour, comforting, and the kind that stays in your mouth long after the meal.
You can even make your own ramen bowl with a range of 12 different Buldak noodles available at the restaurant.
The people there were just as lovely — warm, friendly, and full of smiles. Their hospitality added a nice personal touch to the evening.
After the meal I was thinking of getting another dish, and I saw a Rolled Donut on their menu, I wondered how it would taste like and also thought, why not something sweet. Dusted with powdered sugar it arrived and the very first bite took me straight back to my childhood — it tasted just like the donuts I used to eat years ago when I was around 9 years old. That familiar sweetness brought a gentle wave of nostalgia and a moment of quiet retrospection.
For my parents, I packed some Soya Chicken. When I read “soya,” I expected it to be a bit tangy or spicy, but to my surprise, it was actually sweet. It made me realize that maybe traditional Korean cuisine isn’t as hot as I imagined — or perhaps the flavours were softened a bit for the Indian palate. Either way, it was quite good and something different to bring home.
And I have to mention — their photo booth is such a fun little corner! They have quirky props for you to take 1 to 8 of those silly and memorable pictures with your friends or loved ones. I’d show you the ones I took… but let’s just say they’re best kept private, haha.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience — peaceful place, delicious food, kind people, and even a bit of nostalgia. A truly perfect way to kick off my series of treat meals.
